Josh Hazlewood has been cleared to join the Australian team for the first Ashes Test after an injury scare, however, teammate Sean Abbott has been ruled out
Both suffered hamstring injuries during their match for New South Wales in the Victoria clash in the Sheffield Shield recently
Tests indicated Hazlewood (34) did not sustain a muscle strain. Abbott, 33, who hasn't played Tests, has a significant hamstring issue
Team captain Cummins is out of the first Test, starting November 21, therefore missing of another experienced fast bowler such as Hazlewood could have proven a major blow
The bowler stood not expected to participate during the Western Australia Test, with Hazlewood set to join fellow quicks Starc and Boland as the primary pace attack
Cummins, currently healing from spinal concerns, is thought to be likely to comeback for the Brisbane match in Brisbane starting on 4 December

Following other Aussie squad members, the bowler took part in the current round of domestic cricket in preparation for the England series
Prior to recently, he had not played a first-class match for New South Wales since last season
He experienced stiffness in his posterior chain during the final stages of Victoria's second innings during the match and left the field taking preventive measures
Both players participated in batting for the follow-on innings during their defeat by three hundred runs
