NFL Roundup: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Defensive Performance Wins Contest

Even with registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a safety in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce just 82 offensive yards during the contest.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a chance to score a possible winning score. However Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion rather than sending out specialist Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented after the contest.
