Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Update
Skydance Paramount will start large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 US jobs as part of a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional international job cuts are anticipated, with the company planning to announce all specifics in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Previous updates stated the firm planned to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 roles before the start of November.
Until December 2024, Paramount had almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
The company has not provided a response regarding the report.
