The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles combined, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
